Wombats Class Information

A bit about us...

We are the Wombat's Class. There are 29 of us in total. Our Teacher is Miss Sladdin and the LSA that helps us is Mrs Rafique. Our class if made up of children from all around the world. Many of us can speak more than one language! We love learning and our favourite subjects are Maths, PE and ICT. We are very enthusiastic about our learning.

What we are learning...

Literacy - We will be looking at the features of information texts. We will explore the features of this non-fiction text type and build up to writing own own information text.

History - Florence Nightingale
This unit looks at the life of Florence Nightingale, why she went to the Crimea, and what happened as a result of her work.

Science - Grouping and changing materials
Through this unit children learn to distinguish between an object and the material from which it is made. Children will learn about some of the ways materials can be changed and that heating can cause changes which produce materials which are often useful.

DT-Vehicles
In DT we will be designing and making our own vehicles.

Information for parents

Reading books will be changed on a Tuesday and a Friday. Please fill in/ sign the reading record book.

Homework is given out on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday.

Spellings are given out each week on a Friday and we have a test the following Friday.

Join us on our reading mornings each Friday! This is an opportunity for parents/carers to come in and read with their child once a week. Come to your classroom at 8:30am or ask Miss Sladdin for more information or check out the school notice board.
