We are the Tiger's Class. There are 29 of us in total. Our Teacher is Miss Creathorn. Tigers class is full of great thinkers who love to learn and find out what they can about the world. We have some interesting personalities and we all try to work as a team. Tigers are enthusiastic about their school, which is shown in our brilliant attendance so far this year!
Miss Creathorn's first degree was in Psychology – she finds people and the brain fascinating! She then decided that she would love to teach children so went to Hertfordshire University to qualify. Her favourite subjects are science and music. What she really enjoys about being a teacher is seeing the pride in children as they learn and grow into young people with all sorts of promising personalities.
When she is not teaching she loves to travel, listen to music and take her dog for walks.
Science: solids and liquids. How do we know if something is a S or L? How can we separate materials? Which materials melt or dissolve?
Literacy: stories from other cultures. Do you know any traditional stories from your country?
Geography: a village in India. What is life like in 'developing'
countries? What is it like to live in a village?
RE: Sikhism. Who was Guru Nanak and why is he important to Sikhs? What are the
'five K's' in Sikhism?
Home reading books are to be changed at least once a week – reading with your child every day really does have a positive effect on their learning. Remember, there are prizes for those who read regularly and have their reading record book updated with comments.
If you would like to volunteer for reading sessions with the children, please contact me with your availability.
Homework and spellings are given out on Thursdays and given in by the following Tuesday. Please make sure your child practises their timetables and spellings every week.
