Help your child with Literacy

It’s really important that children get lots of opportunities to talk about anything and everything! This then helps them to learn to read and write. It is best to allow them to experiment with writing at a young age by ‘play writing’.

Teachers have word lists if you would like to know useful spellings that are age appropriate to teach your child.

Children are also encouraged by seeing adults in their family reading and writing because they can then see a purpose for it. This motivates them to want to learn.
