Koala Class Information

A bit about us...

We are the Koala's Class. There are 29 of us in total. Our Teacher is Mr Gemio-Sanchez and the LSA that helps us is Ms Reid.

A bit about the teachers & staff...

Mr Gemio-Sanchez has joined the school this year as Koala's Class Teacher. He is also the Assistant Head Teacher and has a responsibility for Literacy and key stage 1.

What we are learning...

Literacy - We will be looking at the features of information texts. We will explore the features of this non-fiction text type and build up to writing own own information text.

History - Florence Nightingale
This unit looks at the life of Florence Nightingale, why she went to the Crimea, and what happened as a result of her work.

Science - Grouping and changing materials
Through this unit children learn to distinguish between an object and the material from which it is made. Children will learn about some of the ways materials can be changed and that heating can cause changes which produce materials which are often useful.

DT-Vehicles
In DT we will be designing and making our own vehicles.
