We are pleased to tell you about our proposal for Willow Brook Primary School to become an Academy in September 2012. The Academy will be sponsored by Yardley Primary School.
Yardley Primary is an outstanding school that converted to an Academy in January 2011. For many years it has supported improvement in other schools and has been working extensively with Willow Brook since June 2011. As a Sponsor, it firmly believes that its role is to empower other schools to become high performing in their own right. It helps schools focus strongly on the achievement and attainment of its pupils as well as building on their existing strengths and overcoming challenges. It recognises that all schools are part of their community and believes that Willow Brook should reflect this.
Yardley Primary School’s vision for Willow Brook Primary Academy is to:
• create a thriving and successful school that enables children to reach their potential academically, socially and physically; and
• set the highest aspirations for pupil attainment, achievement and behaviour.
Our shared aim is to build on the very real strengths of the School, ensure as much continuity as possible and help Willow Brook become an outstanding school at the centre of the community it serves.
If the proposal is given the go ahead, the School will become an Academy in September 2012.
We are heartened by the recent improvements at the School which have been reported by Ofsted. We believe the proposed Academy is an exciting opportunity to build on this upturn in progress and create an inspirational school that will transform learning, extend opportunity and raise expectations. We are dedicated to creating a high achieving, safe, well-ordered and purposeful school, where lessons are routinely outstanding and children participate, enjoy and achieve. Yardley Primary School’s continued shared knowledge and experience of excellent teaching and learning will help the proposed Academy achieve this. Click here to read more about our curriculum.
We hope that parents, carers and other members of our pupils’ families will get involved in the life of the proposed Academy.
